THE VINEYARD

The Terroir
Every parcel is distinct. We strive to achieve the perfect assembly of the terroirs and grape varieties to obtain complex and different wines from one vintage to another.
The vineyard covers an area of 20 hectares of vines spread over 18 parcels and 4 distinct terroirs from which originate the Domaine’s 4 cuvées :
- AOC Gigondas : the 5 AOC Gigondas plots, which represent 4.5 hectares of the estate, are located exclusively on the southern slope of the Dentelles de Montmirail between 1200 and 1700 feet above sea level in the area known as Grand Montmirail.
- AOC Vacqueyras : the AOC Vacqueyras parcels are located in the northwest of the appellation on small slopes exposed to the sunrise and sunset, of which the soil is made up of blue and yellow clays in the so-called F
- AOC Côtes du Rhône : the parcels are located within the garrigues. They are fine and light soils covered with limestone stones deposited by the old bed of the Ouvèze.
- Vin de France Tire Bouchon : the 4 parcels are located next to the Ouvèze river where the soil is a combination of sand and silt.
The grape varieties
“The grape varieties are the translators of the soil and climate.”
The vineyard has 8 grape varieties that blend, stimulate, balance and bring complexity and diversity to our wines :
- AOC Vacqueyras :
80% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Cinsault, 5% Carignan, 5% Mourvèdre. - AOC Gigondas :
70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault. - AOC Côtes du Rhône :
60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre. - Vin de France le Tire Bouchon :
The specificity of this cuvée is the blend of old grape varieties such as Aramon, Œillade and Counoise with the traditional varieties of the Côtes du Rhône and the Domaine.
